Chris Larkin

PhD Researcher

Chris is a PhD researcher based in Newcastle at the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Geospatial Systems (a collaboration between Newcastle University and the University of Nottingham). His research focuses on understanding how infrastructure and the built urban environment impacts active travel networks. Specifically, his work considers low traffic neighbourhoods, urban morphology, bicycle infrastructure and accessibility within a zero emissions context.

His background is in Geographic Information Science, having completed an undergraduate and MRes in GIS and Geospatial Data Science respectively. His research interests reside in the areas of active travel, graph science, demotorisation of cities and spatial analysis for decision support.
