Chidinma Igwenagu

PhD Researcher

Chidi is a PhD student at the University of East Anglia working on the research ‘Assessing impacts on water quality in future British rivers due to environmental changes’ under the supervision of Dr. Helen He, Professor Kevin Hiscock, Dr. Richard Cooper and Dr. Geoff Darch; with the support of ARIES Doctoral Training Partnership.

The percentage of surface water bodies achieving ‘good’ ecological status in the UK has stagnated at 35% over the past decade. Climate and land-use changes have put further stresses on water quality. Chidi’s research aims to robustly assess the impacts of these changes on both water quantity and water quality for sustainable management.

Chidi holds a first-class honours Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Sciences from Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), Nigeria and an MSc. in Applied Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing with distinction from the University of Southampton.
