Asma Amamou

PhD Researcher

Asma Amamou is a PhD researcher at Newcastle University, school of engineering. Her research covers the nexus between Climate Change and healthcare with a focus on the NHS settings reaching their Net-zero target.

Asma is a Licensed Architect at the Tunisian board of Architects and LEED® Accredited Professional. Prior to delving into research, for over a decade, she was based in China and navigated the complexities of cross-country projects mainly within Asia and the MENA region. With a relentless passion for sustainability, she managed multiple projects targeting environmentally conscious solutions and/or LEED certification like Nike Greater China Headquarters in Shanghai.

Being entrepreneur at heart, after gaining solid hands-on experience on diverse projects within Architecture, interior design, urban and landscape planning, in 2019, Asma founded AXH studio in Shanghai, China.

Simultaneously, as a dedicated educator, Asma was delivering training and consulting services for interior design courses at Raffles design Institute, Shanghai from 2016 to 2021. In 2017, she became an Accredited Lecturer at the University of Derby (in partnership with Raffles Education) and was assisting students for both the diploma curriculum and the Bachelor of Art Honors Degree program until 2021.
