Ambreen Masud

PhD Researcher

Ambreen is a PhD researcher at Newcastle University with the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Geospatial Systems. Her PhD focuses on improved flood information in data scarce cities using remote sensing and citizen science data. Her research focuses on creating an interdisciplinary approach to flood vulnerability through combining technology, spatial data and the lived experience and expertise of local stakeholders.

Before starting her PhD, Ambreen worked in community and social development roles. She has an MSc in Environmental Change and international Development and MPlan in Urban Planning from the University of Sheffield.
