I am a Postgraduate Researcher in the School of Global Development at the University of East Anglia under the supervision of Dr Mark Tebboth and Prof Nitya Rao. My research focuses on human immobility in the context of overlapping environmental crises and developing challenges at Sagar Island in the Indian Sundarban Delta, a region that exists on the frontlines of global climate change. By conceptualising immobility as spatially and temporally dynamic, I explore the plurality of immobility experiences and outcomes using mixed methods that integrate qualitative data on lived experiences and life histories with spatial data on environmental risks and hazards.
Previously, I worked at The Indian Express, one of India’s leading daily newspapers, where I was part of a team producing medium- and long-form explanatory journalism. I have also worked in impact evaluation with Oxford Policy Management on two World Bank–funded projects in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. I graduated with Honours in History from St Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, in 2018, and earned my Master’s in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, in 2020.
