Rohma Hashmi is a doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester with the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. Her research, undertaken within the BuildZero project, examines the techno-economic feasibility of circular economy strategies in the construction sector. By assessing costs, risks, and long-term value, her research provides evidence to support industry and policymakers in developing resource-efficient and financially viable pathways to net zero.
Alongside her research work, she is a Lecturer at King’s College London and Queen Mary University of London. She holds an undergraduate degree, two Master’s degrees, and an MPhil from Russell Group universities, reflecting a broad and interdisciplinary academic background.
Her academic interests lie at the intersection of environmental engineering, economics, and climate policy, with a strong commitment to advancing approaches that enable a just and sustainable transition to net zero.
