Lily completed her BSc in Geography at the University of Southampton, in which she spent a semester studying at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. She is now doing a PhD at Southampton, funded by the National Environmental Research Council and the Environment Agency, centred around climate adaptation.
Her research aims to analyse the spectrum and prevalence of UK household-level flood adaptations, what drives / prevents adaptation, who adapts, and the efficacy / suitability of different adaptations based on different circumstances.
