Kayleigh is a PhD researcher at the University of Bath and is part of the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Green Industrial Futures (GIF). This CDT is focused on industrial decarbonisation and the UK’s transition to net zero. Kayleigh’s research explores the net zero transition for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the influence of place-based factors, governance and standards.
Kayleigh has gained industry experience in various sectors, including professional services, consultancy, manufacturing, print and packaging and food & drink. She has a background in management systems and is a Chartered Quality Professional and member of the Chartered Quality Institute. Kayleigh’s recent career has predominantly been with the British Standards Institution (BSI) delivering management system certification audits, including ISO 14001 environmental management. Through this, she is aware of the focus on sustainability for leadership teams and the increasing requirements for carbon reporting.
Kayleigh completed her MSc in Operations and Business Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, and she also holds a BSc in Product Design and Innovation from the University of Strathclyde. Kayleigh is based in Scotland and is proud of her Scottish culture. She also enjoys travelling and experiencing new environments and cultures, including food & drink. When she is not immersed in her work or research, Kayleigh loves to cook and tackle creative projects both indoors and out in the garden.
