Jon Lawn

Jon has a background in Geography, and after graduating moved into management in catering, retail and charity sectors.  He joined the University of Southampton in 2011 and has managed many multi-million pound international development funded research projects, with partners around the world.  These projects focused on the impact of climate change on vulnerable populations around the world, including livelihoods in coastal Bangladesh and India,  migration and adaptation in coastal West Africa and S.E Asia, and building capacity for research on food and water insecurity in Sub-Saharan Africa.  From 2021-2023 Jon was Programme Manager for an Environmental NGO in SE England, delivering habitat improvement and flood management projects, and returned to UoS in 2023 as Collaboration Manager for the Sustainability & Resilience Institute.
