Jiayi is a PhD student at Tyndall Manchester. She is working on using life cycle assessment (LCA) as a methodology and framework in circular economy (CE) for assessing the environmental impacts of tidal current energy by evaluating various tidal current energy converters (TCECs) with Dr Alejandro Gallego-Schmid and Dr Pablo Ouro. The project aims to provide reference data for further improving the designs of TCECs in the future and might increase the competitiveness of tidal current energy to help achieve commercialization.
Jiayi finished her master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bath in 2023. During that time, she started interested in finding the renewables advantages to attract private investment for mitigating climate change indirectly.
