Jiayi Li is a PhD researcher at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of Manchester. She is working on implementing circular economy actions in tidal stream energy(TSE). She selected one of the actions – integrating TSE into a hydrogen-battery system as a hybrid system while evaluating the sustainability performance of the hybrid system. Her supervisors are Dr Alejandro Gallego-Schmid and Dr Pablo Ouro.
Jiayi finished her master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bath in 2023. During that time, she became interested in identifying the advantages of renewables to attract private investment for mitigating climate change indirectly.
