Jhud Mikhail Aberilla

Visiting academic

Jhud is a Professor of Sustainable Production and Responsible Consumption at the University of the Philippines Diliman, and is a visiting academic at Tyndall Manchester. He completed his PhD in Environment and Sustainable Technology from the University of Manchester. His research interests include life cycle sustainability assessment, systems simulation and modelling, and circular economy. Jhud has been the principal investigator of projects on extended producer responsibility, institutional carbon footprinting, and food waste utilisation. He has also provided his expertise to companies and organizations on waste-to-energy technologies, electrification planning, and corporate water strategy.

With Tyndall Manchester, he is working on an investigative study of system dynamics in circular business models and value chains focusing on comparative analysis between Global North and South cases.

This researcher has no photo, so we dedicate this space to Eunice Foote, inventor and women's rights campaigner who was the first scientist known to have experimented on the warming effect of sunlight on different gases.
