Gracie is a Geography PhD student at the University of Southampton funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership. She has a BSc in Geography and an MSc in Social Research Methods from the University of Southampton.
Her research focuses on understanding the role of social capital both before, and as a result of farming programmes, in helping farmers adapt to floods and droughts. Gracie’s work is based in Malawi, where she works with The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to provide more in-depth understanding about the benefits of the farming programmes.
