Baldev Parmar

PhD Researcher

Baldev Parmar is a PhD researcher at Tyndall Manchester, focusing on equity, governance, and developing pathways for the implementation of Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) in the Global South through an equity and governance framework. He has a background in Geography, holds an M.Phil. in Planning and Development from IIT Bombay (India), and a Master’s degree in Climate Change and Sustainability Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai (India).

With over five years of professional experience, he has worked with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, the Ministry of Labour and Employment (Government of India), and NGOs. His work has centred on localising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the grassroots level and strengthening the capacities of elected representatives and local self-governance institutions. His research interests include climate justice and community-led energy transitions. In his spare time, he enjoys watching science fiction films and travelling.
