To address this, I worked with colleagues to co-edit the Oxford University Hand Book on Food, Water and Society.

My UEA DEV 2013 PhD is at on barriers to the provision of drinking water in developing countries in Southern Africa impacted by climate change.

I had previously been appointed as UEA Associate Fellow 2009 awarded with work on clean energy transitions in Southern Africa as part of  my UEA Masters 2008-9.

I am the former MP for Putney 1997-2005  and former Chair Agenda 21 London 1993-7 . I also have been Adjunct Senior Research Scientist at the Earth Institute Columbia University NYC  in the Columbia Water Center 2012-9 at the UN and at the US Congress ; I was Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Cape Town EGS 2014-9  working on issues of conservation agriculture, urban use of water, governance and climate change .

I am  Visiting Research Scholar for 2020-21 working on COP26 and the built environment at the Centre for Natural Material Innovation at the Department of Architecture, Cambridge University. My work is to bring together a network of support under Cambridge Zero, for understanding the impact of the built environment on climate change and particularly around the solution of using nature based carbon sequestrating building materials,  replacing high carbon emission concrete and steel and oil based products where possible. 40% ( IFC 2020) of carbon emissions come from the built environment. I am working with government institutions, architects , developers, industry and NGOs initially in the UK and then from the end of 2020, internationally.
