Duncan Maguire

PhD Researcher

Duncan is a PhD student in the Norwich Business School at UEA. He is looking into organisational transformations towards sustainability with on focus on shifting mindsets. He is interested in studying organisational culture and how motivation is manifested in organisational settings. He is currently doing an ILM level 7 executive coaching course alongside his PhD and hopes to be able to combine these pragmatically to create transformative change within organisations. He is particularly interested in psychology of change and how values, culture and social norms within organisations can be utilised.

His drive has always been how do we best tackle the global environmental issues we face as a society, and he believes that organisational change is one of the most effective ways to do this. He is very interested in positive psychology and the motivational forces behind changing habits. Before working on organisational change, he has worked on marine and terrestrial conservation projects in South-East Asia, collecting socio-ecologically data and carbon data for REDD+.”
